Coca-Cola Arena, on which ASGC is working as main contractor, has been named Hospitality Project of the Year at the Construction Week Awards 2018, held in Dubai on 4 December.
Aloft Deira City Centre hotel, nominated by fellow contractor Laing O’Rourke Middle East, was named Construction Week Awards 2018’s Highly Commended Hospitality Project of the Year.
Judges complimented Coca-Cola Arena as a complex development to deliver that will reshape the emirate’s tourism sector. Members of the jury commended its extensive health and safety guidelines. The ASGC engineering team’s structural and value engineering expertise was also recognised by the jury.
Laing O’Rourke’s work on Aloft Deira City Centre, meanwhile, was applauded for its use of cost- and time-effective systems for its construction.
The fast-tracked project’s use of off-site fabrication was commended by the jury as an indicator of the engineering firm’s focus on the future of construction.
Construction Week Awards 2018’s Hospitality Project of the Year category is designed to recognise outstanding work within the field of hospitality-related construction.
An independent panel of judges, comprising eight of the Middle East’s foremost construction experts, selected winners in 13 categories at the Construction Week Awards 2018.
